- We use up to the first 30 seconds, at 480 pixels wide and 12 frames per second, to keep the file size reasonable.
- Shorter is better: a 3 to 6 second clip makes a much lighter and more shareable GIF.
- GIFs have no sound and at most 256 colors. For long or colorful clips, a compressed MP4 is often a better choice.
